After ten qualifications and a very competitive semi final where they had to leave behind more than 150 of their contestants, 41 2-year old sporthorses took part in the finals of the Zangersheide Loose Jumping competition at Jumping Mechelen 2019.
The best of the best
Right away, it was clear that only the most qualitatively bred horses would survive the ruthless loose jumping qualifiers. However the jury was impressed by a fair amount of horses, who all received a score of more than 90%. In the end, it was Requiem J&F Champblanc that showed the most spectacular moves (Quaprice Boimargot Quin x Calvaro | BWP | Fokker Hengstenhouderij Van Dijck). Rosy vd Bisschop (Chaccon Blue x Kasjmir vh Schuttershof | BWP) and Rite Ter Elzen (Gino H x Hunters Scendro | BWP) finished at the second and third place. Click here for the results
But, for Requiem, the highlight of the day still had to come. During the auction, a new initiative at Jumping Mechelen 2019, no less than 60.000 was offered for the stallion. This was the record amount that was offered during the auction. Requiem will move to Hilton Stables in the near future, which is very excited about welcoming the promising star.
Burletta vd Donkhoeve Z (Bingo des Sequoias x Heartbreaker | Zang ) was bought for 46.000 euro and Rock’n Roll MXZ (Denzel v’t Meulenhof x Elvis Ter Putte | BWP) was worth 38.000. He will move to his new owner in Poland, as the auction at Jumping Mechelen catched the attention of a diverse, international audience. This resulted in auctioned horses not only moving to Poland, but also to German, Irish and Dutch homes.
