The Queens Cup always is a difficult class for the course designer because top riders like Edwina Alexander, Ellen Whitaker and Judy-Ann Melchior ride the same course as riders who just jump at 1 m 40 level. Nevertheless 15 of the 44 starters jumped clear and qualified for the jump off.
The victory went to Jessica Kürten with Castle Forbes Cosma with a clear jump off in 37.33 sec. The French rider Caroline NIcolas did her utmost best with Oxford d'Esquelmes but was 6 hundreds of a second slower.
Jessica Kürten is well known in Mechelen. The Irish rider won already the World Cup and the Masters and almost every year she is competing in Mechelen. Talissa Witteboon was the best Belgian on Comic vd Vighta on fifth place.
