Twelve riders qualified for the jump off of the Longines FEI World Cup. The victory went to Roger Yves Bost with Sydney un Prince. He was the last one to go and was almost a second faster than Jos Verlooy on Caracas. Holger Wulschner, the winner of the Grand Prix on Thursday evening finished third on BSC Skipper.
Course designer Lucien Somers, for the last time at work in Mechelen as course designer, got nothing but praise for his courses this week. Best rider of the CSI5*W was Dutch Harrie Smolders who received an Ifor Williams Trailer.
