The victory in the Grand Prix for riders under 25 on Saturday was for Doron Kuipers (22 years) and Zinius (KWPN, Nabab de Reve x Kannan). The Dutch rider (Mijnsheerenland, Rotterdam) rides at his own stable as well as for stal Everse. Last year, he finished his young riders career with 3 victories at Enschede. Now he is without a doubt the most succesful rider of the U25 competition in Mechelen with a second place, two third places and one fifth. Top of the bill, his victory in the Grand Prix with Zinius. Doron: "The course was difficult from the start with a very tough first obstacle. Everything went great though, all went well in the jump off. Zinius is still a bit difficult in the mouth but I was able to guide him anyway. He has a wonderful mentality and al the necessary qualities. There should be more competitions like this one, with top level and U25 tests because it is a nice transition to senior level for us and we are able to network with the best riders, which allows us to learn a lot." The second place was for Mathias Hens and Boomer van 't Heike, clear as well but almost 4 seconds slower. Jef Wellens was the third clear round with Carefull Z van 't Hoffteryckel. All the other U25 tests were won by Belgian riders.
